Liz Crocker
Liz believes in taking charge of her life, taking responsibility for her actions and being relentless in her pursuit of success, whether it is her diabetes care and management or every day living. Liz has a unique perspective on her life with diabetes.
"Life itself is uncertain. Anyone can suffer in an accident or any other type of tragedy at any time, so I don't see diabetes as being imminently life-threatening to me at this moment. I know what I have and how to treat it. I just take each day at a time."
This optimistic woman not only maintains an inspiring attitude, she remains upbeat about her future and she encourages others to do the same. What is the basis of this optimism? She believes that islet cell replacement research will produce positive outcomes.
Liz's advice to others, "Live life to the fullest and don't look at diabetes as a horrible thing to live with, instead use your experiences to enrich your life and the lives of others. Support islet cell transplant research so that a functional cure can be found asap."
